Time Sand Still

Abstract Photo | Glass Photography

Technical skills

To capture this photo, it was critical that the glass be perfectly clean with no dust or finger prints.

Another complication, was getting the hourglass to sit perfectly still and balanced on a thread.

It took me a total of thirty minutes just to get the correct placement of the hourglass and a perfect distribution of sand.

Beginnings of symbolism in my work

For me, it’s always been important that my work reflect who I am as an individual.

I’m someone who finds beauty in symbolism, and hidden meanings of moments, words, and images.

I took this photo towards the end of the semester. It was calming to be up to date on my assignments. For a moment, it felt like the world stopped spinning, and time stood still.
